Editorial Independence
- Editorial decisions are made independently, free from influence by sponsors, advertisers, or institutional affiliations.
- Editors evaluate all manuscripts on academic merit, relevance to the journal’s scope, originality, and contribution to knowledge.
Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement
Chitra Journals strictly adhere to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) standards. Authors, editors, and reviewers are expected to follow the highest ethical practices to ensure integrity, transparency, and academic honesty.
Authorship & Contributions
- Authorship is limited to those who made a substantial contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research.
- All authors must approve the final manuscript and agree to its submission.
- Acknowledgments should recognize those who contributed but do not meet the criteria for authorship.
Originality & Plagiarism
- Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
- All manuscripts undergo plagiarism detection software screening.
- Any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or image manipulation, will result in rejection or retraction.
Data Transparency & Availability
- Authors must present accurate, verifiable data and be prepared to provide raw data if requested.
- Data sharing and open-access repositories are encouraged for reproducibility and transparency.
Conflict of Interest
- All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose potential conflicts of interest (financial, institutional, or personal).
- Editors and reviewers must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where such conflicts exist.
Peer Review Process
- All submissions undergo double-blind peer review by at least two experts.
- Reviewers must provide constructive, impartial, and timely feedback.
- Authors have the right to respond to reviewer comments and submit revisions.
Editorial Responsibilities
- Editors must ensure fairness, confidentiality, and integrity throughout the editorial process.
- Editors should not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone except the corresponding author, reviewers, and editorial staff.
- Decisions to accept, reject, or request revisions are based solely on scholarly merit.
Reviewer Responsibilities
- Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively, confidentially, and within the agreed timeline.
- Reviewers should identify relevant published work not cited by authors and report suspected misconduct.
- Reviewers must not use unpublished material for personal advantage.
Research Ethics & Human/Animal Subjects
- Research involving human participants must follow the Declaration of Helsinki and provide documented ethical approval.
- Studies involving animals must comply with international animal welfare standards.
- Informed consent must be obtained for studies involving human subjects.
Corrections, Retractions & Withdrawals
- Corrections will be issued for honest errors.
- Retractions will be published for proven cases of plagiarism, data falsification, or unethical research.
- Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript before publication, with valid justification.
Open Access & Copyright Policy
- All Chitra Journals are open access, ensuring free and universal availability.
- Authors retain copyright and grant the journal a license to publish under Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY), unless otherwise specified.
- Readers may share, adapt, and distribute articles with proper attribution.
Advertising & Sponsorship
- Advertising, sponsorship, or funding sources will never influence editorial decisions.
- Any sponsored content will be clearly identified.
Appeals & Complaints
- Authors may appeal editorial decisions with clear evidence and reasoning.
- Ethical complaints will be handled in line with COPE flowcharts and procedures.
