Chitra Journals Submission Guidelines (Standard Template)
General Information
Manuscripts must be original, unpublished work and not under consideration elsewhere.
Submissions are accepted in English. Authors may include translated works if properly referenced.
All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review to ensure scholarly quality.
By submitting, authors agree to abide by the ethical publishing standards of Chitra Journals under Chitra Trust.
Article Types
Research Articles (5,000–8,000 words) – original scholarly studies with substantial findings.
Review Articles (6,000–10,000 words) – comprehensive reviews of existing literature in the field.
Short Communications / Case Studies (2,000–4,000 words) – concise reports of new research or practical insights.
Book Reviews (1,000–2,000 words) – critical reviews of recently published books relevant to the journal’s scope.
Manuscript Preparation
File Format: Microsoft Word (.docx).
Font: Times New Roman, size 12, double-spaced.
Headings: Use a clear hierarchy (e.g., Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3).
Length: Generally 5,000–8,000 words for research articles, unless specified otherwise.
Language: British or American English may be used, but consistency must be maintained throughout.
Structure of Manuscript
A typical manuscript should include:
Title Page – title, author(s), affiliation(s), contact email, ORCID iD (if available).
Abstract – 150–250 words summarizing objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
Keywords – 4–6 relevant keywords.
Introduction – background, significance, objectives.
Methodology / Theoretical Framework – depending on discipline.
Results / Findings – main contributions of the study.
Discussion – interpretation and implications.
Conclusion – summary and possible future directions.
Acknowledgements (if any).
References – APA 7th edition style (author–date citation system).
Referencing Style
Use APA (7th edition) for citations and references.
In-text citation examples:
One author: (Smith, 2021)
Two authors: (Smith & Brown, 2020)
Three or more authors: (Smith et al., 2019)
Reference list examples:
Book: Smith, J. (2021). The study of knowledge. Oxford University Press.
Journal article: Brown, L. & White, K. (2020). Social change and culture. Journal of Social Studies, 15(2), 45–67. https://doi.org/xxxxx
Figures, Tables & Illustrations
Figures and tables should be numbered sequentially and placed within the text near their first mention.
Each must have a clear title/caption and proper source citation if not original.
Images must be submitted in high resolution (minimum 300 dpi, .jpg or .png).
Ethical Standards
Authors must ensure originality and avoid plagiarism.
Proper acknowledgment of all sources is mandatory.
Any research involving human or animal subjects must follow relevant ethical guidelines and approvals.
Peer Review Process
All manuscripts are subject to double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers.
Reviewers are selected based on expertise in the relevant field.
Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewer comments before acceptance.
Open Access Policy
All Chitra Journals are open-access and freely available at https://chitra.info/journals/.
Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication under a Creative Commons license (CC BY 4.0), unless otherwise specified.

The submission must include:
Cover letter
Manuscript file
Figures/tables (if applicable)
Author information (names, emails, affiliations)
Review Timeline
Initial editorial screening: within 2 weeks.
Peer review: 4–6 weeks.
Decision (accept, minor revision, major revision, reject): communicated within 8 weeks.
Publication Fees
At this stage, Chitra Journals do not charge submission or publication fees.
If an Article Processing Charge (APC) is introduced in the future, authors will be informed before submission.
